LDW Hotel Pricing – one week left
So with just one week left before one of the biggest party weekends of the year in Las Vegas, we revisited the hotel pricing for a 3 night stay (arriving Friday evening, leaving Monday) for the cheapest room each hotel was offering over the weekend.
The biggest surprise we got was just how big a drop we were seeing on some of the rates over a week ago – five hotels on the list had price drops of over 20% – suggesting that there is plenty of inventory still available for the holiday weekend.
Equally surprising is that there is only one sell-out so far – but it is not surprising that the sell-out is at The Cromwell – a first LDW sell-out was all but guaranteed for this trendy new boutique hotspot.
The full table is below, but as always we’ll start with our pick of the prices. We had a real (ahem) “heated discussion” in the office on which one we’d pick, so for the first time we are actually presenting two picks:
MOST ATTRACTIVE PRICE #1
CAESARS PALACE, $525
It is not every day that the Caesars price for any given stay comes in cheaper than the Mirage and the MGM Grand, and only $10 above the price for NYNY. For that reason, because the price just seems too good to be true, and because the pool complex is one of the better centre-Strip options, we’re picking this as the first of our choices. Going against it was the fact that the room is in the Roman Tower, which none of us love – but hey, it’s all about location and pools on Labor Day Weekend, and this is a winner in both. Book now before they fix the price!
MOST ATTRACTIVE PRICE #2
MGM GRAND, $595
So because Labor Day Weekend is traditionally home to some massive pool parties, and an excuse to grab some relaxation in the sun, the other half of the office wanted to pick a hotel with an amazing pool complex. There was a long discussion between Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand as they were both the same price. We generally prefer the rooms at Mandalay Bay, but the pool complex at MGM Grand has the edge, especially when it comes to also hosting Wet Republic. At $595 for a long 3-day holiday weekend, it is hard to argue with this price.
